In Bitterfeld, Germany, LANXESS has been producing high-performance Lewatit ion exchange resins for over ten years through its subsidiary IAB Ionenaustauscher GmbH. This production facility using monodisperse technology is the largest and most cutting-edge of its kind in the world.

“Small beads, but great solutions”: Monodisperse ion exchange resins can be detected particularly well under the microscope (see screen). Monodisperse means this technology can be used to manufacture the individual polymer beads all in exactly the same size. This makes them particularly powerful and even more suitable for complex material separation, e.g. in the pharmaceutical industry or for producing semiconductors and microchips.

Specialty chemicals group LANXESS AG is building a new facility for manufacturing membrane filters for water treatment at its site in Bitterfeld. LANXESS is investing a total of EUR 30 million in this pioneering project, which is being sponsored by the State of Saxony-Anhalt to the tune of up to EUR 6 million. This new plant will create 200 new jobs in Bitterfeld in the long term. Reiner Haseloff, Economics Minister of the State of Saxony-Anhalt joined up today with Axel C. Heitmann, Chairman of the LANXESS Board of Management, to break the first ground.

랑세스, 독일에 수처리 사업 신규공장 설립

독일 특수 화학 그룹 랑세스는 독일 비터펠트(Bitterfeld)에 총 3천만 유로를 투자하여 수처리 사업 신규공장을 설립한다고 밝혔다. 이번에 신설되는 비터펠트 생산기지에는 멤브레인(membrane) 필터 기술을 개발 및 생산할 예정이다. 삭소니 안할트(Saxony-Anhalt) 주에서 6백만 유로를 지원하게 되는 본 비터펠트 생산기지 건설은 장기적으로 200여 개의 일자리를 창출할 것으로 기대된다.
