How I came to LANXESS:

Through Bayer’s carve-out. When Lanxess was established in July of 2004, I was already employed as Marketing Manager with the Business Unit Material Protection Products.

How I describe my current tasks to my family & friends:

I work at LANXESS’ finance organization. The Controlling Department includes a team, which during the acquisition or sale of business segments and also in restructuring projects ensures that the work is performed and decisions are made in line with clear-cut economic rules. We calculate the value added by restructuring, acquisition, and divestment measures.

What I like most about my work:

After having worked for several years in the marketing/distribution department of a business unit, I now like the fact that I will be able to expand my knowledge of finance and to thus get to know the company from a completely different angle. This way, I believe I will be able to develop a well-balanced profile that will combine both my practical knowledge of the market and my understanding of business methods.

My colleagues from other departments that I work with on a daily basis:

Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Development, Accounting, Human Resources and,
of course, the various BUs with whom we execute our projects.

What characterizes LANXESS as an employer:

Flat hierarchies, great dynamic force, success orientation, professional competence, efficiency and being open to sidesteps (for example my case – from Sales Management in Mexico to Corporate Controlling).

What I expect both professionally and personally from my work here at LANXESS:

What I would like to give as advice to a new colleague on his first day at work:  
Be yourself. Bring along fresh ideas and a zest for work.
