Studies in Mechanical Engineering

How I came to LANXESS:
I was looking for an internship in the area of computer-aided engineering. A friend of mine who works for a university institute told me to go to LANXESS.

How I describe my current tasks to my family & friends:
I advise customers on what plastics to use when designing their products. This is done mainly with the aid of the relevant calculation software by evaluating the constructions in terms of their mechanical performance. This way, I am able to detect any weak points, which can then be eliminated.

What I like most about my work:
Despite its very theoretical character, my work has always also a direct practical relevance. This is an extremely interesting combination, which makes my work so exciting and diversified. And the working atmosphere at my department is just great.

What I expect both professionally and personally from my work here at LANXESS:
I hope that my work here at LANXESS and the experiences that I make will help me decide what career path to take. I also want to learn how to use the modeling and calculation software that I have used here in industrial practice.

What I would like to give as advice to a new colleague on his first day at work:
There’s nothing you can’t learn!
