Yongli Wang was born in 1970 in China. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science at Fu Dan University, Shanghai, in 1992 and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from CEIBS.

Wang joined Bayer (China) Limited as IT Manager in 1996 to develop the Corporate Network of Bayer in China. Since then he has held various key positions within the company where he has implemented strategic management systems for the Bayer China Group. Yongli Wang has also acted since 2003 as Head of Regional Strategy at Bayer Polymers Asia Pacific where he was responsible for initiating and coordinating strategic projects in the Asia Pacific Region.

In 2004, Wang was appointed Managing Director of LANXESS China and promoted to President of LANXESS, Greater China in 2005.
Yongli Wang is married with one daughter.
