Peter Weinmar has been head of LANXESS’s Material Protection Products business unit since March 2005.

Weinmar was born in Essen, Germany, on November 10, 1960. In 1981 he joined the Bayer Group, where he successfully completed the Business & Administration Trainee Program.

In 1987 Peter Weinmar moved to France to work in the Inorganic Specialties field sales force, returning to headquarters in Leverkusen in 1991 to take charge of global product management for liquid silicone rubber. From 1995 to 1999 he was head of marketing for phosphorus chemistry and hydrazine hydrate. He then transferred to the Strategic Planning Department of Bayer AG.

In 2000 Weinmar assumed global responsibility for the ion exchange resins business, today at LANXESS. Since March 2005 he has been head of LANXESS’s Material Protection Products business unit.

Peter Weinmar is married and has two children.
