How I came to LANXESS:
“From Leverkusen to Shanghai!” that’s how LANXESS’ trainee
program ad read. This and the opportunity to get to know the various
divisions of an internationally renowned company was what made me
decide to apply for this job. What was also very important to me was
the fact that I would be able to work on my further education.
How I describe my current tasks to my family & friends:
I am currently in charge of the timely completion of all orders and of providing an estimate of our customers’ future order volume.
What I like most about my work:
Being a trainee means having tasks that are quite diversified. My first task was to develop an HR concept. During my second assignment I contributed to developing a future strategy for thecompany. And currently I am planning the production process. You really can’t ask for more diversity.
My colleagues from other departments that I work with on a daily basis:
I work with the shift supervisor, head of the lab and head of the marketing department (both on a
national and international level) on a daily basis in order to plan production in an optimal way.
What characterizes LANXESS as an employer:
What characterizes LANXESS best in my opinion are the company’s flat hierarchies, which allows for an exchange of thoughts and ideas across all levels. It very much speaks for a company like LANXESS if the board members participate in roundtable discussions, seeking dialogue with their employees and listening to what they have to say.
What I expect both professionally and personally from my work here at LANXESS:
Professionally and personally I hope that my work here at LANXESS will bring me to Asia and that I will be able to continue working with people from various backgrounds.
What I would like to give as advice to a new colleague on his first day at work:
I would advise a new employee to address things openly and honestly. LANXESS wants everyone to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the company’s flat hierarchy structure.
