Cooperation with relief organization AMREF: LANXESS provides for clean water in Africa and makes an active contribution towards ecological education.
Approximately one billion people do not have access to clean drinking water. For two billion, access to sanitary facilities is a true luxury and around 4,500 children die from infections caused by polluted drinking water every day. LANXESS is making an active contribution towards improving the management of this valuable resource – with its products for drinking water treatment as well as with social involvement.
Thanks to the cooperation between LANXESS and the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), around 10,000 students in Tanzania are receiving a sufficient water supply and new sanitary facilities as well as education in health and personal hygiene. In order to boost awareness for global water problems in Germany, the specialty chemicals group organizes project weeks with the focus on the topic of water at four German secondary schools.
