Opened in 1962, the plant in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, in Rio de Janeiro State, is the company’s largest. It covers about 117,000 m2 and employs 265 people.
This unit has a production capacity of approximately 200,000 tons a year, accounting for about 50% of all LANXESS Elastômeros do Brasil’s production.
Its installations produce oil-extended rubbers, used in the tire and tread industries, as well as lattices used in the production of foams, the modification of asphalt, and other applications. About 70% of its production serves domestic clients, demonstrating the degree of commitment at LANXESS to the Brazilian market. The remainder is exported, mainly to Latin and North America.
