Impermeable rubber for soccer balls

To view content you need flash player plugin. You can install last version flash player here

Butyl rubber from LANXESS offers excellent properties that allow the retention of air, making it an important component in the manufacture of sports balls, such as those used in soccer games. Its great advantage: high levels of impermeability to gases and liquids.

The use of butyl rubber is not limited only to balls. Inner tubes for automotive and bicycle tires are also made of it, such as protective closures of medicine bottles and pharmaceutical containers. In its halogenated form, butyl rubber is also known as sealing layer, the so-called inner liner used in tires of cars, trucks, buses and aircrafts.
