LANXESS expands Jhagadia site to serve booming Indian market
LANXESS is continuing to expand its Indian production site in Jhagadia, Gujarat state. The specialty chemicals group is underlining its commitment to the subcontinent by inaugurating three new plants this month to serve the growing India market. LANXESS has invested over EUR 70 million and created roughly 300 new jobs at the site.
High-tech products for green mobility
Customized polyamides and polyesters for sustainable mobility concepts and colorants for plastics are the focal points of LANXESS’ exhibition at INTERPLASTICA 2012 in Moscow. The leading plastics and rubber fair in Russia and the CIS countries is an ideal forum for the specialty chemicals group to present state-of-the-art innovations such as new lightweight construction methods for car bodywork.
LANXESS to build plant in Lipezk in Russia
The German specialty chemicals group LANXESS is focusing on the megatrend of mobility on the Russian market too. At its new site in Lipezk, LANXESS subsidiary Rhein Chemie will produce rubber additives and release agents for the Russian and CIS markets, especially for the automotive and tire industries. Construction of the new production plant is due to start in early 2012, with the launch of production scheduled for the first half of 2013.

A Rubber Excellence Partnership was announced by representatives of the synthetic rubber manufacturer LANXESS, the German Institute of Rubber Technology DIK (Deutsches Institut für Kautschuktechnologie e.V.) of Hanover, Germany, and Qingdao University of Science and Technology, China, at the LANXESS Green Rubber Day in Beijing on December 2, 2011.
Screeding begins at new LANXESS corporate headquarters
The placement of floor screed has begun at the new corporate headquarters of specialty chemicals company LANXESS in Cologne, Germany. Raised access flooring is to be installed over the next five months on some 38,000 square meters of office space, including a load-bearing layer made of self leveling calciumsulfate screed. The self leveling screed is supplied by Düsseldorf-based CEMEX Deutschland AG on behalf of system flooring manufacturer Sybotec GmbH, Frammersbach, Germany, which is performing the work.

The Semi-Crystalline Products business unit of LANXESS has been honored as the best supplier of high-performance plastics. It was recently presented with the “2011 Global Supplier Award” from MANN+HUMMEL. The Ludwigsburg-based filtration specialist honors its best suppliers with the prize in recognition of their outstanding performance or achievements.
LANXESS pioneering high-performance rubber for ‘Green Tires’ in Japan and South Korea
LANXESS will be underlining its status as a premium supplier of high-performance rubber to the tire industry at its first-ever Rubber Days in Japan and South Korea this week. The world’s largest synthetic rubber company is a key supplier of Nd-PBR and SSBR rubbers to leading tire manufacturers from both countries. Both products are essential in the production of ‘Green Tires’ that are more fuel efficient, safer and durable than standard tires.

Quality pigments for paints and coatings – 85 years of experience serving the customer
Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is presenting its high performance pigments under the motto “Sustainability and Technology” at ABRAFATI 2011, the main Latin American scientific and business event in the coatings industry, to be held in São Paulo, Brazil, from November 21 – 23. The comprehensive product portfolio includes in particular Bayferrox red shades for paint and coating applications and yellow pigments with special properties.
LANXESS acquires U.S. biocide specialist Verichem
LANXESS is strengthening its portfolio of biocides with the acquisition of Verichem Inc. based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a result, the German specialty chemicals company will significantly bolster its position in the U.S. material protection market and broaden its global biocide manufacturing network. Both parties have agreed not to disclose financial details.

LANXESS on track for record year
LANXESS achieved a record third quarter in 2011 due to ongoing strong demand especially for its synthetic rubbers and high-tech plastics. The German specialty chemicals company also reiterated its full-year outlook for EBITDA pre exceptionals to grow about 20 percent year-on-year and thus exceed the EUR one billion mark for the first time in the company’s history.

The “red carpet” for the G20 Summit
When the world's 20 most powerful heads of state met this year at the “Palais des Festivals” in Cannes on November 3 and 4, they arrived to a “red carpet” with a rich red color, thanks to Bayferrox 230 A iron oxide pigments from LANXESS. For the G20 Summit, the city of Cannes had renewed the red asphalt on walkways and in the squares around the congress center.
