LANXESS recovers almost all the CO2 it uses in chrome processing in South Africa
The specialty chemicals company is adopting new approaches to climate protection in Newcastle, South Africa. With the help of an innovative process, LANXESS CISA (Chrome International South Africa Ltd.) has succeeded in “recycling” virtually all its CO2 emissions. The carbon dioxide used in chrome processing is recovered and compressed. As a result, it remains in the production cycle and does not pollute the environment. This enables LANXESS to cut CO2 emissions by between 10,000 and 12,000 metric tons a year.
