Committed to literature and music
For the third time, LANXESS will be the main sponsor of Europe’s largest literature festival, which takes place in Cologne, Germany, in spring 2012. lit.COLOGNE brings together high-profile authors, actors, musicians, media professionals and other prominent figures and shows how exciting the written word can be. LANXESS’s commitment to lit.COLOGNE opens up a completely new avenue for furthering the communication of knowledge and science, and sparking an interest in reading and literature is key to this.
Stage set for German and Brazilian artists
LANXESS is not just strongly committed to cultural projects in Germany. The group also organized two large “100-Years Concerts” in São Paulo in August 2009 as part of celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the invention of synthetic rubber. The impressive show combined Brazilian choro with German baroque and included works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Brazilian composer Pixinguinha performed by the renowned Bachiana Chamber Orchestra.
