The LANXESS Technical Rubber Products business unit is a leading global supplier of specialty elastomers and solutions for the rubber processing industry. Its products, featuring high-quality, innovative and a well-filled pipeline for established and new applications, are widely adopted by extensive customer base in the automotive, footwear, construction, electronics and domestic appliance industries. Among these, the automotive industry is the most important customer sector, accounting for nearly half of the sales.

The business unit has world-scale production sites in Germany, France, and the United States, and markets a broad product portfolio via its global sales network under numerous brand names, including Baypren, Buna EP, Therban, Levapren, Levamelt, Krynac and Perbunan.

Abrasion resistance, heat resistance and resistance to aggressive environmental influences are some key properties of the products made by the Technical Rubber Products Business Unit. To strengthen its innovative ability to develop new products and applications as well as enhance existing products, the business unit plans to setup a new research facility in Qingdao, China, in 2008 to meet the growing demand of local customers.

The Technical Rubber Products business unit is part of the Performance Polymers segment of LANXESS, which recorded sales of USD 4,253 million in fiscal year 2007.
