Dr. Werner Breuers

On March 16, 2007, the Supervisory Board of LANXESS AG appointed Werner Breuers to the Management Board of LANXESS AG effective May 14, 2007.

Born in Mönchengladbach, Germany, on December 9, 1958, Breuers obtained his doctorate from Aachen Technical University and began his career in 1989 as a chemist in the Research and Development Division of Hoechst AG in Frankfurt.

After holding a number of managerial positions at Hoechst AG, Breuers became Head of Sales and Marketing at Hostalen Polyethylen GmbH in 1998 and was also a member of the Board of Directors of Hostalene Polietilene Italia S.r.l. in Milan, Italy. In 1999, he joined polyethylene manufacturer Elenac GmbH of Kehl, Germany, as Vice President Licensing and Catalysts. A year later Elenac became part of the Basell Group. As a member of the management team, he was Head of the Technology Business Division based in Milan for the first four years and was most recently President of Basell Polyolefins Europe, headquartered in Hoofddorp near Amsterdam.

Breuers is married and has two children.
