Leverkusen - Despite the difficult economic conditions and the cost-cutting measures that result, occupational safety continues to have top priority at LANXESS. The Functional Chemicals business unit, for example, has introduced the award-winning "STOPTM" safety program.

STOP™ stands for Safety Training Observation Program, involving all employees. “This has already led to significant improvements in safety standards in many other companies worldwide” says BU Head Jorge Alberto Nogueira about STOP™, “I am very confident about our ability to excel in safety as well.”

STOP™ is a five-step training program, which includes self-study, several field activities and group discussions. In 2007 it received the Excellence in Safety Training Award from Workplace HR & Safety magazine.
