LANXESS has once again demonstrated its great devotion to Corporate Responsibility: For the fourth time in a row, the LANXESS Cup was staged. The contest is arranged in close collaboration of LANXESS Shanghai Pigments with the district government represented by the Putuo District Environmental Protection Bureau (EPB) and the Education Bureau. On June 5, 2009 – World Environment Day – the award ceremony took place at the Putuo District Youth Center.

This year the LANXESS Cup activity was a children’s competition in photographing and painting. The theme of the competition was "Experience green life, build our beautiful campus". All in all the contest was open to children of four age levels: kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school and senior high school.

Around 120 kids took part in the contest. More than 30 of the participants received awards for their excellent works. Their honoured artworks will be shown at an exhibition in Putuo District Youth Center as well as in the office of LANXESS Shanghai Pigments. The best 12 objects will even be used for designing the table calendar 2010 which is issued annually by the local Putuo government.
