Randall S. Dearth

LANXESS Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer

Randy Dearth has served as president and chief executive officer of LANXESS Corporation since the company was formed in July, 2004. He operates as the managing director for the North American region comprised of the United States and Canada.

Prior to LANXESS Corporation, Mr. Dearth was president and CEO of Bayer Chemicals Corporation. He began his career at Bayer as a development chemist in the automotive coatings labs, then transferred to Bayer's automotive technical center in a market development role.

Mr. Dearth spent time at Bayer in Germany, where he was responsible for market development in Europe and Asia for the coatings division. Upon his return, he Managed various businesses within Bayer, including monomers, adhesives and global powder coatings.


Mr. Dearth sits on the boards of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Calgon Carbon Corporation, the
Pittsburgh Technology Council, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, the United Way of Allegheny County, the Andy Warhol Museum Board, and is a Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh trustee. Most recently Mr. Dearth was elected to the Stepan Company Board of Directors.

Mr. Dearth has been recognized as an emerging top CEO with a Pittsburgh Business Times Diamond Award. He has also won a PRSA Renaissance Award as the CEO Communicator of the Year and Junior Achievement’s 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Mr. Dearth holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Hiram College, and a master's degree in polymer science and engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
